left side third  rib  broken  ,re glued  but weak  don't know if it'll  take pressure  i have replacement part   , unless i can find a way of  attaching  something to strengthen broken part
 
You might find dampening the planks first will ease the bending and reduce the stresses.

sounds  good  to me , now  going over  it's been  down  tools last  few weeks but hoping to   do more weekend .

With regards the planking, if you have access to a steam iron if you run the steam iron over the section you want to bend and gently lift the other end you can get very acute bends without the plank snapping.

WHat I do for the planking is to use a length of plastic tube from a plumbing store with a twist cap at both ends.  Put the planks in the tube with hot water, so they are thoroughly soaked, it will make bending the planks easier.
 
I was chatting to a chap,about planking ,and he said they use bleach as well,


I have not gone into research about it,


and I do real like Graham ,method to sock the planks,

hi ship mates , some more progress on victory more planking over weekend , working on cannon hole's tricky part and hair pulling as wood , braking thank goodness for the rum and spare wood , from sovereign of the sea which i would love to have but a start stop project now buried now victory , on the dry dock .more to come also working on yacht , planking oars etc
 
progressing along very nicely ,James,that's a lot of gun ports,your planking is looking
good,not an easy thing to do,;)

arr there not cutting them out x three decks both side's plus any pressure planking comes' away hence ive glued outside to toughen and drilling center then it's a filing down square , time is a factor that and hair which i haven't got so plenty off rum haha or coffee ,if i was drinking rum there 'd be circler , finished yachet keel and oar hole's now priming and placeing inner deck plate before painting possably weekend with that in between more planking , too be done regards cryton .

Looking good James, still got to cut out my gun port's on the SotS.
But I'm in no rush.
