Just finished this 48 scale hasagawa p51 finished in the colours of jumpin Jacques out of the box plus a bit of pe for the cockpit

This aircraft was flown by Lt.Jacques young . and he liked to jump the adversary from behind hence the name jumpin Jacques

The kit is as good as a tamiya if not better it's a bit more fussy ie more parts but the fits are good decals went down very well but are thin so don't cover the black stripes very well so went over them with white free hand that tested the hand shakes paints used were all famous acrylic and the Matt coat was a first for me I used Vallejo Matt it's the best I'll use this from now on

I decided to fit the large paper drop tanks and fitted these and did a bit of scratch plumbing for them I didn't use the kit decals for the blue on the fin or the nose or the thin line between the olive drab and silver as this in particular is much too thick and in the wrong place

I hope you like it please feel free to comment PS I know I have the exhausts to pick out all the best guys and girls

Roger

Thanks Dougie it was fun I'll do it again soon and a personal thanks for sticking with it from start to finish :)

Top job there! beautifully constructed with a terrific paint job too.

Cheers

Excellent work Roger. The Mustang looks great and the base really shows it off.

A very attractive display piece.

That's a great build of a wonderful aircraft Roger. The oil stain on the nose is a nice detail.

Top work Roger, I like the staining on an otherwise clean aeroplane. Great build.

Very nice model also the presentation with the way the grass meanders up to the hard standing.

Very nice bit of paintwork. Very crisp on the border of the two paint colours.

If it looks a bit raggy it spoils the model. Yours is very crisp.

What did you use to mask Roger. bet you had fun on the canopy with the deep framework.

Thanks Laurie I used tamiya tape I usually cut it into thin strips for going round tight curves about 2mm wide really enjoyed this build
