The only things that I have lost is my Favourites and my reference pages. Normally I back up on a Friday night but I left it to do today. Wife has already filled one 1Tb HD with bits. Had to reinstall Win7 onto this PC. If that didnt solve the virus problem I would have used my gaming PC but thats just abit of an overkill for just the using of the net.

I once attempted a self build PC, I think its somewhere in a rubbish pit now, the only thing it ever did was beep and puff blue smoke out the back.

I have my iMac which I love with a passion that sometimes is just not decent.... I then have an Acer Laptop that is a few years old, battered but still keeps going with XP on it. I also have a Compaq netbook with XP and a broadband dongle which I take with me when I go away (I still hate Windows though). I always take it with me as I use it to backup pictures from my digi camera every day and, if I can get a signal, keep in touch with the forum.

I will be taking it with me to (hopefully) sunny Minehead on Monday, will be there all week so if you don't hear from me, there was no signal lol.

As a double backup I also have my Samsung Galaxy S android phone so if all fails, I can still get emails, Facebook and the forum.

Sad really isn't it........

I dont think Mafia hitmen have that many means of contact Graham....lol

I have a self built PC that just sits and gathers dust in the back room. Not sure what but some thing died on it. Not sure if its the PSU or the MB. Its a dinosaur by todays standard any way.

My current window to the out side world is an HP laptop that starts when it feels like it. Does the job but no good for games though, It gets knackered just running a film or photoshop, and you cant hear for the sound of the cooler fan going hell for leather to try keep thing cool!!!

Graham, When you are in Minehead you could pop in and say hi to me mum! Loverly little town and at this time of the year you can actually move and find a seat in the chippy!

Mmmm, chippy.....

Cheers Ian, looking forward to a break. Don't know if anyone has ever read "500 Mile Walkies" by Mark Wallington. Very funny book about a guy doing his first long distance walk with a borrowed dog called Boogie, the 500 mile South West Peninsular path which follows the coast from Minehead to Pool in Dorset via Lands end. I have loved this book for years and it opens with Mark and Boogie sat on a bench in Minehead watching the "machine gun towers of Butlins appear out of the early morning mist" before setting off down the prom for the start of the path. So it is a bit of a pilgrimage for me lol

I used to have to re install my windows based machines every 6 months or so, I am a sucker for trying useless shareware and it soon got messed up adding and removing stuff. Apart from doing a full upgrade from Leopard to Snow Leopard, I have only had to do one rebuild on the Mac in 3 years. guess I have temped the gods of computer crashes now......

I have used a Mac a few times but I like to build my PCs myself. Brother has one and thinks its better than sliced bread.
