There is a Model exhibition at R.A.F. Cosford nr.Telford in Shropshire on Sun.11th April. Looks like it could be good.

I have been to Cosford before (not models) and it is a great day out and it's free.

Go to their website and have a look.

I'm going and the campsite is booked!!!!

Perhaps see you there?

Ron

Hi ron, im very tempted , its supposed to be a great museum and exhibition , only one thing puts me off, there was a rumour about a streaker on the runway with a bag of wine gums, now thats the sort of exhibit i dont think i want to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seroiusly though, if i can make it i think ill give it a go , if im going ill give you a pm ,well have to rendezvous! (im not wearing the hat for recognition!) cheers tony

Would be great if we could meet up Tony, and anyone else too.

I had hoped everyone would have forgotten about me and the wine gums.......Thanks a bundle..Ex mate! lol

Ron

I spent 12 months there and there is noway you are going to get me back there lol

I'll be there!

I did suggest a few months ago that we all wore a bucket on our heads for easy identification. For some obscure reason that didn't appeal to anybody so what's the alternative?

I suppose we could all bring a bag of wine gums though.....

Tony, Gern, I'm sure we can come up with something.....Anyone else fancy this?

If it helps to maybe tempt a few extra bodies, I went last year and had a fabulous day.

Entry is free and the models are spread among the real aircraft that are on show. It was interesting to be able to look at someof the models on the tables and look up to see the real thing! There were three big exhibition halls with lots of clubs exhibiting and plenty of traders. Many of the club members were also selling stuff so there were some excellent bargains to be had.

Lots of burger bars and a cafe area for food and there was also a meeting/exhibition of motor scooters (real ones) on the day I went.

I would love to go but not being independently mobile, I cannot ask SWMBO to drive me there. I suppose if I set off now I might be there on time on me push bike but then I would miss my mini break in Wales. Ho hum..... I would like to see the video on Youtube of Ron honouring his bet though ;-)

they'd probably censor it,graham. iI think it would be classed as a video nasty!!:shocking:

Could be funny though with his Nurse running behind him with the wheelchair ready to scoop him up. All them wobbly bits and a big bag of wine gums, got to be a party in there somewhere.

Anybody know how far away from the train station it is if it is withing a reasonable distance for taxi ride i think i may attend.

scott

There is a train station at Cosford. About 30 seconds from main gate and 5 minute walk from main airfield gate.

Scott, if you go on the R.A.F Cosford site it tells you about the railway.

I have just been on and you get a free cup of tea for using the railway!!!!

OOPs, beaten to it, sorry.

Whose wobbly bits are you talking about? Ron or the nurse?

Just asking for clarification of important details is all!

It would be great to meet up boys, so as you went last year Gern, can you suggest an obvious meeting place at the venue?

Also can I open it up for discussion as to a time to meet up on the Sunday?

Any thoughts?

Ron

Hi Ron,

I could suggest something boring like the cafe at the main entrance, but that's no good.

How about under the cockpit of the Vulcan? That should be easy enough to find!
