Hi folks iam in need of some assistance here my next project is going to be my 1/200 USS Arizona, however iam reading a lot of conflicting information regarding her colour scheme after here re-fit. on the one hand i have those telling me me she was painted mediteranian blue and others tell me she was painted 5-D grey or some colour. Can anyone enlighten me as to which is the correct colour scheme, the instructions show the mediteranian blue.....iam very confused.

I think you will have more luck finding the right sceme if you pick a date that the model represents and search for photos/info for that date.

John at White Ensing models may also be able to help. He will be able to sell you the correct colours as well!!! :-)

Would just add that looking at the paint guide I would say the blue grey colour they suggest would be correct, so I would go with that.

One of the most debated colour schemes in the world Scott. It really does depend at almost which month you want to depict it and even then, no one can agree. This link to the White Ensign page is probably the one I would trust most. As are their superb enamel colours. Very high quality enamel paint very well researched colour matching.

Here is a picture of my mate Les Venus with his 'Best of Show', a couple of times, 1:200 Arizona. Not a great picture but a truly great model.

I believe that a recently found document confirmed that she was in blue at Pearl Harbor.
