Hi All,

I started modelling briefly in the 1980's but then life took over, you know - job and family commitments :/

I've been modelling again since June (all aircraft - mostly props but a few jets).

The first battle I had for the first few months was patience since I have carpal tunnel and neuropathy but I'm getting there.

The average aircraft now takes me about 20hrs to complete but I have a complete workflow now which includes a good plinth to show off the good ones (good by my standards). Theres not that many I want to show off at the moment.

The photos of the models I see are amazing and something to aspire to and I look forward to chatting to everyone :)

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

Patience, I still haven't won that battle 😂

Welcome (y)
Patience isn't my best friend either lol, cheers

Welcome to the forum. Join in and share the hobby.

Welcome to the party, hope you like it here and stay

Think of model making as 'therapy' i find it helps with my physical and mental problems

And theres no rush, it aint a race, takes as long as it takes

And after 20 years back in the hobby i still turn out absolute howlers fit for the bin, but the whole point is enjoying yourself and destressing...... Do the hobby for yourself not others

Patience, if only it came in a bottle. Welcome.

Hi and welcome mate, newly back to modelling myself (about a year now).
I started with some abominations, Lol. Looking back now I thought they were ok, but I have progressed a bit since then. This forum is great for that, lots of useful, helpful and constructive help and advice, so we are always learning.
As above, just do it for you, not others, and always take the positives.
Every time I have made a c*ckup, eg: often, I have also learnt something from it, so its all good.
Enjoy the forums buddy.... cheers

I think the first few of mine ended up with more tiny bits feeding the carpet monster than on the aircraft (Airfix Hurricane I think), I kept the first decent(ish) kit, an Eduard Hellcat F6F as a reminder that things usually get better :)

On a bit of break the last month but I’m getting itchy to start, so welcome, take it easy and you’ll be posting pics before you know it, warts and all.
