discussion Help, I cant post on forum from my PC

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. I can no longer post replies on the forum from my PC, the box just isn't there anymore??

I recently updated Firefox and thought that might be the problem, but other browsers are doing the same.

I'm normally quite good at IT problems but this one has me stumped. Help!

That sounds like something to do with your account on this forum rather than a software problem. Are you a member of any other forums? can you post a reply on those?
I know some forums will limit the number of replies you can post if it thinks you are posting spam, for example on you tube if you post something like more than 3 replies in less than a couple of minutes it will lock you out of replying for a while.

Other forums are ok, although this is the only one that I use that has a quick reply function.

The weird thing is i don't have this issue with my phone (which I'm replying on now) which is connected to the same network.

I wonder if it's worth signing out of your scale models account from your phone, then signing out from your PC. Restart the PC then sign in on the PC. I'm using the latest version of firefox and i can reply on both the PC and the phone

By "the box isn't there" I assume you mean the one that you type the reply in.
I have just had a look on my Phone, android. Ipad, Ios. And PC windows and Chrome all working as they should.
It has to be a problem with your update...

Yep, definetly my work PC, I'm on my home one now and no problem. Actually, as I sit here and type I realise that not only is the text box missing, but all the buttons above it (inser libnk, photo, smileys, etc) are also missing. Too strange.

Maybe your companys Internet is blocking it.

I thought that, but i logged into the router and couldn't find any blocks?? Guess I'll have to actually do some work instead of browsing the forum.

Update

I've partially fixed the issue by disabling "Use the rich text editor to create and edit messages" in preferences. I now have the text reply box back, although not the buttons above it. I can live with that as I know most of the codes that forums use so will just have to type those in instead of clicking buttons.

I'm still puzzled as to why this has occurred.

Update 2

I joined the XenForo forum (the people who provide the software for this forum) and posted my problem there. The response I got was:

"Support is only available to licensed customers. You will have to report the issue to the site owner, who can then post here for support if they require it."

Helpful bunch.
