If you want an old fashioned "show desk top" as XP I have tried this and it works. So it will for others believe me !

Found if you install this secondary tool bar that your favourite and used folders can be dragged onto the bar. Many will know I am sure but there will probably be a few who do not. Makes it so much easier than delving into the hard drive to look at real pictures of Jackals as a reference by just clicking on the folder on the toolbar.

My TomTom Satnav would not connect to TomTom's site to download maps (for which I had already paid) and TomTom, after some effort, could not find a problem despite it being Mac-ready. .

I can sympathise with you on this one, I had a similar problem but PC Based, bought and downloaded a new map set, backed up and took the old maps off as instructed and then tried to install the new maps, no go. Tried to reinstall the old maps no go. TomToms help line was as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Told me to try everything in the manual I had already tried then told me it was broken and as it was out of warranty I would need to buy a new one. Now in the bin and a Garmin in the car.

Had a similar problem. Bought a Garmin. Then tried to update as it indicated in the instructions. After starting the programme and waiting a few minutes as it did all the things they do. This programme does not support windows XP as the MS no longer support. So that is how I got to windows 7. Then lost a lot of my cherished programmes as said before.


But Son in Law up dated my Garmin in double quick time. No idea about Tom Tom but the Garmin works a treat. Driving in London it worked perfectly and when I made an error in double quick time it devised a route to resume the journey. The side displays when approaching a difficult junction are very clever and very clear.


We live in jersey and the majority of streets, roads and parishes are in French. To get used to the Garmin I used it in Jersey and the "voice" trying to pronounce the French names was very amusing.
