Hi and welcome to the forum Paul I don't know much about making cars, but maybe a larger scale give you more space to try out different paint techniques (should you need it ). You made a good choice to join the forum, as your questions will most likely be answered within a couple of hours- good time to let the paint dry

Welcome Paul! Getting back into modelling was one of the best things I have done in a long time.


After a 25 year hiatus myself I have discovered that there are a lot of new things out there to make modelling easier and more enjoyable on many levels.

Hi Paul, welcome to the best forums around mate. I think most of us returned to the hobby later on in life, just like yourself, so make yourself at home.


Personally if I was you I'd get one of the airfix starter kits, something simple, mebbe a plane even if its not what you want to concentrate on in the future, but it does give you the chance to practise and hone your skills.
