Nice work Graham, there is a lot of fine detail gone into that. Derek

Wow - the detail from the PE is amazing. Can't wait to see what it looks like all painted & finished.

Never tried it myself, but I have seen some builds where they paint the ship all black, and control the finish when they put on the top coat. Seems to be some merit in that approach. Derek

Is there a reason why you didn't paint all the deck stuff before adding the laminate? I would have thought that would make the paint job much simpler.

Gern, If you mean the deck laminate, you need to put the laminate on the deck before you put any of the superstructure on, otherwise you can't get the laminate over the superstructure.

Nice start Graham, I have had this kit twice but never built it! so will be good to see this.

Sorry Graham, I didn't make myself clear. I was thinking of all the fiddly little bits (hatches, storage boxes etc) on the decks rather than the superstructure.

This is looking great, makes the 1/200 scale one look more tempting!

I agree, I'd love to do the 1/200th scale Hood and Bismarck, but I'll have to wait until I have a bigger work bench, and a large space to displsay them

Me too but I have the will power of a five year old in a candy store. :D
