thanks for the kind words just got home so sorry for not relpying sooner,its a good kit to build but im glad i waited until i had all the issues before starting it i just did'nt like the idea of building things out of sequence and then either losing or breaking them later on.Never had any problems with de agostini all the parts were their and the quality of the wood is good but i will say that alot of the hard woods have been replaced which are in the original kit and if you can get the kit in one go, i think the caldercraft kit is a superior model but again expensive.

Hi all
Been away for a long time with work and life getting in the way of this build but not after a year i am ready to start again from where i left off so hopefully over the next few months should see some progress on this build.

Think we both our at same point just got back into build end of January I'll health etc trying to get mojo back keep in there .we both will get there its tricky stuff the way to look at it cryton

I am at the stage now of putting on a second walnut planking, once i had done the first planking i the covered the hull with filler and then gave it a good sanding so it was nice and smooth.One thing to be careful of is at the bow with the clinkering effect and faring the bulkheads so the planks curve easily.

Looking good so far. I have just caught up with this build, so I will be watching with interest
