I keep an Excel list of my stash. Sometimes it scares the hell out of me, looking at the amount of money spent, although my stash is not big.
I just made those excel list and quite surprised what i have in the stash, but happy to have them and will be able to build them in the future :)

I blame the model manufacturers, they keep releasing must have`s, it`s so hard to keep up:rolleyes:

my excuse was when i was out of work i couldnt afford to do much except on the cheap,.........when i got back into work and had money i went a little daft,.....stocked up on kits and paint and stuff for the next time i was unemployed....which did happen.......but the stash did grow rather large and swambo did cast a disapproving look when we moved and i brought it all down from the loft

these days i only buy if i really really want it (or its a rediculous bargain!)

what i do to keep track is when i take a picture of whatever i have bought to post in the 'look what i just bought' thread, that every forum has, i put it in a file called strangely enough STASH ..........its split down into armour, cars, bikes, planes, etc.........whenever a kit is built the pic is deleted....that way i have a visual 'virtual' stash on the laptop even though its all really in the loft

My stash...?

3 Tanks: Stug III (1/35), Tiger I (1/35), Renault FT (1/16)

4 Vehicles: Jeep SAS(1/35), German Truck (1/35), Citroen (1/35), RSO (1/35)

3 Planes: Henshel or similar...I never remember the name  (1/72), Focke 190 (1/72), Thypoon (1/24)

0 Sci-Fi: What...? :(

4 different set of figures 1/35, who knows when I will back to build dioramas again :D

PS: I don't count all the Land Rover kits, are not for build, they are part of my private collection :)

Anyway I have some started builds, that don't know if ever I will end them O_o

I've given up counting, but the closet is now full and spilling into the mancave. I know I'll probably never get to them all ,just ca'nt help adding to the pile.

Magpie model stash builder me if I see something I like I buy it I have even brought the same kit twice cause I've lost track of what I've got and have no inventory I will never build all the ones I have now but will that stop me buying more noooooo.......,... Way . I like the fact that you can have your own model shop in your own home . I keep all mine up in the loft away from prying eyes and sneak the odd one or two in when no one is looking.

It seems to me that with the exception of myself and rather few others, most people have a significant stash. This begs the question whether there are more purchased kits unbuilt and languishing in cupboards than there are kits built?

Cheers

I suppose every one has his reasons...

In my case, I'm learning the modeling tips and techniques, so I build what I like or the model that can help me to learn new things. Sometimes I finish them, and others they go directly to the trash :)

I agree Steve, my main issue is space, nowhere to store them...either kits or the finished models, not both. Plus lack of funds and then the main reason...the wife.

Si:)

I know what you mean Si. Also I actually intend to build mine. The two 1/32 kits would keep me going for months, even if I didn't have to go away to work and the 1/72 kits sent by Polux are just a bonus :)

Cheers

Ahhh!! Sorry Steve :)

My main idea was better than those little kits

The next time :D

I did start to keep a spread sheet but lost it a couple of pc's ago- Now I have a photo stash like Paul (Beowulf) and aslo just delete them when I build them. Its a lot easier than turning the wardrobe out every time I want to pick one!.

I counted mine up and there are 48. This includes some old kits that I had from decades ago and gifts. They are stored in one of those large plastic containers on rollers. Always tempted to buy the latest release, with the intention of selling outdated kits, but I actually enjoy building those old ones and so I don't get rid of them. They are all 1/72 except for a 1/32 P-47D and a 1/32 Hasegawa Mustang both of which Aaron from this forum kindly gave to me, and a solitary 1/48 Monogram P-51D. I do feel much better about it though, 328 Dave!

I've got about 8,

As90 with AM

Scimitar with AM

Chally 1 with AM

Abrams tusk2 with AM

Then I've got various figures to sort o_O

Lee :)

I have aprox 30 tanks and a number of minimart bases along with boxes of figures and accessories +4 ships that may never get built 0oh and 2 planes plus so many book I could open a library

Well my excuse for ferreting away kits is that when I eventually retire I will not just be doing the garden in my retirement plus by then I should have a big spare bedroom to play in with loads of space for made and unmade kits and there's always ebay sell them all and have a nice holiday somewhere so I look on them as an investment lol:)

No wonder those kit makers keep releasing new stuff heh. o_O

My stash totals...

1

It's the Academy 1/72 P-38 Lightning, which I bought to cannibalise the drop tanks for something else. I'll start to build it fairly soon. Clearly there is something missing from my life!

I have 3planes 4 cars 1 tank and 2 figures but if you count plans for scratch built I have 23 ship plans 4 of which are started. So my stash of kits is very small but I plan big.

My stash is listed in my signature. I have a rule to keep it at a maximum of 10 but I am trying to get it down below 5 but I do keep getting tempted.
