Hey guys, hope someone can help me out im looking to produce some small tin parts just wondering if anyone knows the best way I can achieve this??

Can I get a small manual press to punch out the shapes then fold them using a simular press ??????

Hope you guys can give me some direction on this

thanks

What kind of thickness are we talking. If you mean real tin its pretty soft and you can cut it with heavy scissors. (just not the wifes dressmaking ones... :-/ )

A steel rule and a hobby knife blade will be a good starter folding set.

Would be about 1mm thinkness..... this has to be very accurate and want to make 20 or so at a time .... would this still be the best way many thanks...

You can get a metal former/bender http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sealey-Bench-Sheet-Metal-Rod-Folder-Bender-Former-DF760-/390311314367?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5ae05e03bf

If you are wanting to press out then you will need a metal press and dies to match. You can get tin snips or a powered 'nibbler' that trims. To be honest, you may have more luck if you look at a model engineering or metal working site and forum, they may offer more help.
