I am building a french railgun and thinking of spraying the french type of camo four colours with hard edges so need to mask each colour any ideas how to go about it.

I've used blu tak for German tri colour schemes, but I've also heard of toothpaste being used.

Do you have an example Baz?

Many of them had a band of colour that separate two adjacent ones is that what you mean?

I done something similar on a Mk 1 male or female tank. I sprayed the lightest colour first, then applied Maskol to the areas to be preserved. Then the next colour, etc.

Thanks Colin I was going to use tamia tape layered on to glass then cut to shape and fixed to model but it will take a long time .

will try maskol.

If it's four colours with hard edges on something with multiple faces & angles why not just brush paint it anyway? I'll bet they weren't too fussy when they painted the original.

Or perhaps that's just me being lazy.

Colin got there first. Lightest first then start with the maskol. Unless like me you are a nutter. Free hand the blocks of colour with the AB then cut the dividing stripes in with a hairy stick. Soft long hairs are best, you can get a better flow, and not to many hand tremmers through the bristle.

just have to say Colin that looks great and i would of just done it freehand ,but that looks much much better, ;)
And Maskol is so easy to use. When you're finished, just rub it off. I really should use it more often !

Hi guys, used Maskol and am pleased with it. for anyone not sure about it give it a go ,only problem with it is brushes dont last long so i started using foam sponge strips cut off large piece to paint it on and that works fine.

thanks Colin.View attachment 108435
