discussion Humbrol enamel RLM colours

Recently, I bought the Humbrol RLM colours for RLM 74, 75, 76. I will use these on my coming up build on a 109' and hopefully it should go well. Any thoughts on this fairly new paint range?

Ive got the new RLM70 & 71 Humbrol colours to use on my Stuka.The Humbrol colours look a better match than the Vallejo equivalents to me.But that's only my opinion.

I've not used them as I have a stock of Colourcoats (White Ensign) but I have seen the 70 and 71 and they looked pretty good to me.

Are the new Humbrols enamel or acrylic?

I've heard that the Hannants Xtracrylix are accurate for the RLM colours, I've got a few ready but not tried them yet. The Xtracrylix range seem to be like Marmite... you either love 'em or hate 'em.

Andy,Humbrol do a range of RLM colours in enamels AND acrylics.

Cheers Dave, I didn't realise. It'll be interesting to see how the masses get on with them.

I've found them ok, I use the enamels which are easily mixed compared to some of the older Humbrol range, but I have found that they seem to be quite thick straight from the tin for brush painting.

Humbrol's new paints are very nice to work with compared to their older production line. I recently got some RLM paints, they look okay in the tins but yet to use them in anger.

Concerning the Enamels from Humbrol, I find them alright to use, but I tend to stay away from their acrylic range. Better to use is the Mr hobby Acrylics.
