discussion I can't upload photos

Is anyone able to upload photos to the forum using an iPad with iOS 8? Mine was working fine until I upgraded it this week and now I cannot add photo's. This is a question to iPad users only. Thanks.

However, Apple are notorious for ignoring some bugs, at least on the desktop operating system, not even acknowledging them, unless they affect a very large proportion of users. There are several longstanding ones (one up to 3 years and still not solved!). (I have been an Apple user for 20 years, in case anyone thinks I am knocking Apple from a Windows perspective.)

Thanks Steve , I know they don't really care about something's which is why I haven't bothered , I would imagine this sort of thing would be way down on their list but thanks for the info and I'll contact them if it is not sorted by the next update

Ok, I can't upload with with Firefox browser, but I have no problem with the explorer or google chrome, have no idea how this is possible.

I am using the old vista system.

I have seen warnings against updating to the new software for iphone/ipad. as it is full of bugs and errors.

Funny I have noticed that as soon as Apple announce a new iphone, the software for the 'old' versions always start to play up and people end up buying a new iphone due to the old one not working any more....

This don't help much Alan, but it is more than likely Apples fault and not anything you are doing wrong.

Your correct Ian , but usually you get an update within a few days sorting out most of the problems , thing is will they see this as a big problem ? You can still upload to Apps but not the Internet or emails

I suppose it depends on how many complaints they get about it

Thing is Al, even if its the software etc you cannot use the phone in its total intent-which is what it is: a phone, music player, web-broswer, emails etc. If one part of that fails and they cannot fix it then the phone is not fit for use, despite how old it is-therefore they need to be informed and you want money back as you cannot use it for what you want it to.

Thing is both my phone and iPad work fine , only thing is photos to sites like this and I doubt that would constitute unfit for purpose mate

Thing is they could claim that it's a security issue

Yes it works it's a bit clunky and your photo is at the top of the page but at least I can post photos from my iPad now View attachment 202330

No mate I didnt , have you gone into settings and checked system update ?

I found mine in there and just downloaded the ios80.2 and it started working

Apple have admitted that there is a bug. This is a first for Apple: admitting and apologising. Normally, over the 18 years that I have had an Apple computer, they ignore bug reports, even serious, longstanding and widespread ones. It seems that this one is so serious that they have forced themselves to start working on it immediately.

By the way, my daughter who is in a sort of IT job, told us yesterday that those in the know advise not buying anything over the Internet this weekend because of a virus. My paper today mentions a general virus which exploits a loophole in the basic systems used by computers, which attacks a file called "Bash", allowing access to peoples' computers.
