Right this evenings instalment.

Sorted out a few bits, bent the windscreen a bit so it will look as if it has slammed down onto the bonnet. Got it a bit to hot so it's melted it plastic a bit but I think it will work.

So I might use the Arab on the donkey and the Donkey from the livestock. That probably means that it will not end up as a US Jeep but a British SAS type thing....

Quick up date, no pictures, maybe later when I have gotten the new work top and sink into the Laundry room.

The whole lot got a coat of silver paint, which once dry was then painted US Olive Green. Working on the assumption that the Jeep came from the factory that colour.

The Green has been scratched up and rubbed off here and there. The next paint layer will be the desert camouflage colour.

Right then the Kitchen window primed, I got the time to work on the build a bit while the paint dries.

I had selected a few places where I only wanted to chip the sand colour off, and show the green under it so I dabbed some liquid mask around wear areas and then sprayed a coat of Vallejo Iraqi sand. The second it was touchable I rubbed the area's that has the liquid mask (most of the Jeep!) with a well aimed little finger tip. This had the combined effect of rubbing the paint and masking fluid off and giving a "worn shine" to some of the sand coloured paint. The heavier scratches and chips where done with a cock tail stick.I also painted the engine block a basic brown rusty colour and will give it an oily wash before I hide it in the motor room.So, Am I going the right way? The Newness of the bare metal will be getting a rusty red brown wash, to age the effect a bit.Ian M
