discussion Interior colour of Panther hatches?

I've painted the interior of the rear escape hatch and driver's hatch white (which will be weathered) - is this correct? The edges of the hatches I assume would be red primer?

Hello AJay,

The interior of German tanks was not painted in white. The interior color should be more ivory (Elfenbein RAL 1001). Mix your white with a little buff or yellow and you will get the ivory look.

But the inside of hatches and other interior that would be visible from the outside was many times painted in the same color as the exterior.
