Still going lol

One thing I am getting to grips with his good old patience and that includes letting paint dry. So started the priming yesterday and today painted her bum using tamiya LP. No attempt at masking as the Kure grey will cover the red

Hull painted in tamiya LP Kure grey, as i am painting the decks separately I thought I had better mask the lip inside the hull to mount the decks on, so will give a good contact for the glue

Started the main mast, not fitting the top section yet, tempting fate! Will fit just before painting


There is a small amount of PE, mainly oars for the boats!! But also this cage like thing, it sits by the side of the mail funnel, not a scooby what it's for????

A nice paint job that. Well masked too - no bleed, that's always a great day at the paint booth.

Bob when I masked Bismarck off I used two rolls. lol. Start saving.

Just bought shares in tamiya masking tape !!

Sprayed decks in Tamiya linoleum LP. Middle section now in place

It looks bad but with the upper deck in place you can't see inside. The four holes are for the long lance torpedo quad launchers. The section in linoleum is visible.

Test filted all decks and no problem. After a big think ( brain overheated ) I have decided to add the numerous decks fittings with the decks not fitted. Hopefully easier to mask the moulded deck hatches as well

Also started wearing gloves when handling the painted hull.

HI Bob matey is there no plimsole line on her ? an you are doin a splendid job on her as as been said no leeks under the tamyia tape from paints well done my good freind an yes good idea about buyin shares in Tamyia maskin tape lol

Do you mean boot topping, from what I basically know is Japanese warships didn't have them

YES Bob i mean that paint line so they dint have them did they have draught mrkins then ? or would they be to small to see in that scale ?
