I can understand where you are coming from. I get rather restless when I am due a trip into the city to visit a rather good model shop.

Have fun!

Yes spot on Dave. We have 3 model shops in Jersey & I requent them, like a young man with his pocket money, to get ideas & buy an odd model & frankly just to gaze. There to day at one for a paint colour.

Annoying they are only supplying Humbrol Enamel I keep on at them to stock Acrylic as it is much better for young people being non toxic & for clearing & washing up.

Going to Wales on Saturday any body know of any good model shops in Pembrokshire ?

Just went into my LMS today, not to buy, but just to browse, takes me back to when I was a kid.

Love it!!

Its not sad I do it all the time in my small local model shop but when I do manage to get into Liverpool or Chester....god I am like a big kid even the wife walks off on me :smile1:

I'm the same. I can't go to Amazingstoke without visiting MZ and having a good browse just like I did in Farnborough Models and toys, Barlow's and Concord Models in Aldershot. I travel a lot with my job and try to look up model shops wherever I go. I was in Valencia last week and checked out a few shops but they were shockingly expensive. If anyone can recommend model shops in Copenhagen, Munich, Luxembourg, Cologne, Dusseldorf I'd be very grateful.

You think you guys got it bad!? You need to watch the Cosford Branch of SM at the annual show to learn what real big kids are like.

Remember Scrat and his acorn? He's an amateur with a vague interest in acorns compared to our desire to hunt out kit bargains!

Walking into a good model shop is like walking into a book shop for me. I have to be careful to control my wallet when I do go in.

Would love to have Hannants near to me. Not sure my wife or bank manager (same thing really) would like it though :emo10:

I've only been to Hannants in Lowestoft a couple of times despite it only being 28 miles away, but walking down the rows and rows of shelves stacked high with models is very tempting. It does come in handy when visiting friends in Lowestoft to save on the postage. When I go into Norwich I always pop into MZ just to see what's new or whats in their sales.

hell no buddy nothing sad about that i use them and i would love to go down there to see the shop in person you lucky sod..the model shop in my town shut down about two months of me getting into this hobby and i have never been in one since so enjoy and get some pics if you can

A bit off topic but I learned yesterday that the oldest model hobby shop in Denmark is closing tomorrow!!! :-(

It was the first shop of its kind in Denmark, and has been a family venture since 1945(i think) the two sisters and their brother think its time to retire.... Now there is only one model shop in the Copenhagen area!!!
