Scale Model Shop

Is "Scale-Effect" a myth?

Very nice indeed.
I can see your point on the painting to have a finish like the above Barry.

Don't know now having seen that what camp I'm in. One part of me agrees with Dave Lovell about its just a model and the other I'd like to be able to do that !

The late Simon T and I had numerous pm about 4BO paint, weathering etc sun damage /time expose to the elements ( Remembering the photo Tim posted )
now its reached a point where distance and scale has been mentioned Its a step too far for me. I shall just model on and enjoy, right or wrong.
Yes John Barry's turned out a stunner but one completed a shade darker or lighter would have still looked correct and instantly recognisable for what it is ,dont under estimate your own modeling skills my friend , I enjoy looking at other people's work and if I think wow then they've inspired me to bash on with what I do but never compair it to my own. This has been a interesting discussion but blue is blue green is green if its in keeping who cares .DAVE

OH MY GOD!!......
Guys,if EVER there was something to deter new modellers from joining the site,(Or others, actually!!),then THIS thread is it!!:dizzy:!
OK,it was a relative subject,and a few thoughts,in general,made it interesting for a while .... but PLEASE ..... it`s a HOBBY,(Which usually means...."For FUN"!!).
It ain`t rocket science, and i`m pretty damn sure NONE of us are skilled painters ala Van ear missing,or Constable....:rolling:
So C`Mon Chaps, lets get back to what the majority of us on here actually LIKE,(That`s plain and simple modelling BTW).... I think this thread has BORED the pants off enough of us now,(You can see that by the amount of regular chaps that haven`t posted on it).
IT`S MODELLING GUYS....... GET OVER YOURSELVES !
