Is this weird or what !?

The diary of Merer is worth a look, by the way Jim. It’s an EgyptIan Diary written about 4500 years ago by an Egyptian official (Merer) and describes the transport of stone for cladding the great pyramid…..it states around two hundred blocks a month weighing around three tons each were moved by approximately forty boatmen.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Well,there ya go Tim.......
That statement proves how wrong you are........
We ALL know that there`s only ONE "BOATMAN"!! :tears-of-joy:
I would have called them bargees, but that would lead us on to curry side dishes…..and we are already going around in circles as it is…..

Brilliant thread.

Folks trying to out do each other as to who knows the most about God knows what, and the use of the King's English knows no bounds...... ;)

As soon as the camper is packed, I'm glad I'm going AWOL for a week or so......

Lots of love.

Archimedes Screw.

That explains why the Russians like it so much!
From someone who had some of this happen at the end of my road, close enough to give the perimeter guards cups of tea if they had been allowed to accept …..bit close to the knuckle Dave…..

None taken Dave. It was actually interesting to watch. The bit next to me was the removal of the police vehicles. It was a large operation, involving quite a few vehicles. It all ended up at Porton down, and I had to drive by it again going into work. The most amazing thing was at the end when they all just disappeared into the night. Got up in the morning and it was like they had never been there at all.
