Finally got this one finished. It is not a great kit fit wise and not too well engineered either. However, it can be built into a fair representation of the classic bike ridden by a Geoff Duke to become world Champion for the second year running in 1951. The kit is from the 1970’s and, to be honest, is not a patch on the WWII Triumph and Harley Davidson.

I have seen it described as unbuildable and not fit for purpose. Well, it isn’t a Tamiya kit but nothing is insurmountable. The colour callouts are a bit dubious so if you intend to build one, have a look at the wealth of restored versions online and follow that. It would also be worth scratchbuilding some parts, especially the foot pedals and control rods.

All in all, a fun build but not an easy one. However, it will go into the cabinet in fact, it is already in there. I will leave you with a few snaps so you can make up your own minds.

That's turned out great Graham like you say not the best kit , but it doesn't look like a bad kit at all, just show what work you've put into it. I bet it looks great in the cabinet.

Thanks Ian. Yep, these old 1/9 scale kits look good in the cabinet as their size makes them stand out. Just got the WWII Harley Davidson to do now but that can wait until my frayed nerves have recovered :thumb2: (yeah, a thumbs up symbol:smirk
