Scale Model Shop

Jim R's AT45 Soviet Artillery Tractor. 1/72 scale TP Model,

Just read this build Jim. I tip my hat to you buddy for sticking with this one.

I think ‘Challenge Anneka’ would have been hard pushed to get as far as you have. Such a poor looking kit that you are kicking into shape.

Excellent work so far Jim, I’m sure you’ll crack it and produce an amazing ‘tractor’.

Just catching up with stuff Ive missed , and came across this Jim. All I can say is I’m glad I didn't read this thread just before bedtime !! Its a proper sleeves rolled up, ugly bare knuckle fight but youre winning mate . Excellent scratchwork and problem solving , after this is finished you should treat yourself to a nice little Tamiya kit or similar just to calm the nerves !
Great work , keep at it , cheers tony

Well done JIm. I think you deserve a medal for this one. It seriously has put me off doing one of these resin kits especially by this manufacturer. I think when its done you should get it framed as its probably unique in that its the only one ever to make it to completion.

Jim.
What can I say ? You sir are truly turning the proverbial Pigs ear into a Silk purse 👛. After all your fine modelling it is great to see that under paint the running gear looks fabulous 👌. Well done matey.

Well a fair bit of progress. Not the number of problems as with the running gear but still not good. Still looks as rough as a badger's whatsit!

I could find no reference pictures of the inside of the cab and as I had already strayed far from an accurate model I made it up.

Gave it a coat of MRP primer and then MRP 4BO

Stuck in some clear plastic for windows and glued on the base and the back.

Added the front mudguards ...

... and the lights. I also added a couple of hooks which were shown in a reference photo.

I added the rear tow pintle after scratching the kit detail that was hopeless.

So there we are. The end is in sight. Thanks for your encouraging posts - much appreciated.

Cracking work so far Jim, the fantastic work your putting into this really show’s. Keep up the great work.

Hi Jim,
Excellent stuff mate, looking at the extra work you are having to add, to bring this vehicle to anything like acceptable, it is hard to believe I am looking at a 1/72nd scale build. Looking like you can bring this little monster across the finish line 👍.

Thanks to all your supportive posts this *&^%$£!! of a kit is done. It is not accurate, not very good and the swear box is overflowing. I'll add some light weathering and a matt coat.

Thanks again and a happy Christmas to you all.

Despite the troubles it gave you I really like the result Jim, you added a lot of detail to the kit and it paid off 👍, cheers
