Looks great under primer. Wise to use grey I think. It will allow some "duller" areas to show through the white.

You're a hard one to please Miko
The F-16 has received its white paint. The exhaust sections have been painted and are awaiting pin washes. I'll pick out detail in the landing gear bay next, and then I can gloss the airframe before moving on to the decal sheet to give this white beast some colour. I need to buy more white paint now!

I have discovered that I very much dislike painting large white areas. This morning I looked at it again, and saw some areas that I think were a bit thin. Shadows play tricks on an overall white surface, seemingly no matter the amount of lighting put on it.
Using the last of my lacquer white, I gave the F-16 another coat. I also painted the gear doors which I had completely missed during the first round, so it was worth reloading the airbrush anyway. The exhaust sections and wheels are painted and ready for later.

It looked alright to me in the first paint Joe but now comparing the two pictures there is a definite improvement .
The paint does look more “solid” now Joe if that’s the right way to put it 
Good job though, I think white paint is probably the most difficult colour to get right

Cheers Steve and Geoff. Solid is a good word for it. A lot of it will be covered by the team markings, but the areas I was concerned about coincided with those that wouldn't be covered.The paint does look more “solid” now Joe if that’s the right way to put it

Looking very white Joe ! As you say , white along with yellow is a bugger to do on a large area , modern paints just dont seem to cover as well as the old ones , I never remember yellow or white being see through when I was slapping it on with the brush on bare plastic as a kid ! Probably because they had to make everything ‘safer’ in case some numpty drank it or something - bring back the old toxic stuff I say!
