Build thread and information about the pilot here: https://www.scalemodelling.co.uk/threads/joes-airfix-1-48-spitfire-mk1.1276169/

An enjoyable build, with some quirks along the way. It took longer than I expected, mostly due to me making some big mistakes with the paint job. Thanks for organising the Spitfire GB Geoff Colin. Painted in Humbrol enamels with Vallejo washes and weathered with heavily thinned acrylics.

Of all the names I've been called, Geoff is a new one, and probably the most politest !
Anyway, great job Joe. In this cheme, this is the epitome of a Spitfire. Might this type have been the first model I made as a kid ?

That’s a cracking job Joe, a very nice result all round 👌

(Colin was the GB host though 😉)

Geoff.
Thanks Geoff, glad you like it. Yeah, I know, I will edit the post...
A most excellent result Joe. Followed this one from the beginning and enjoyed watching it come together.
Cheers Steve, thanks for following the build

Cheers Colin. So sorry for calling you Geoff (no offence to Geoff). I also like the early Spitfire scheme.

That's a great result. Still one of the best looking aircraft ever.
Cheers Jim. Couldn't agree more

Fantastic work Joe.
Cheers Ian
