Trouble is Tim you dont know what a kit is goin to be like till you get it do you then its in my opinion is just wade in an build it UNLESS ITS A REAL DOG like my kity hawk jagaur but even then i built it with lights an on that i had to cut off the bottom of the fusealarge by half an inch an fit the main undercart an then fit in that big hole some plasicard on each side then sand down an when sprayed up you could not know it was that bad but i would not buy another of their kits once bittin twice shy as the sayin goes an its was quite an exspensive kit as well

Best way to do that is ask around here Chris. Most kits have been built by someone, so any feedback should be useful.

As to sprue goo, never seen the point myself. Unless you have a cheap source of the glue used in its manufacture it’s just as cheap to buy the commercial fillers. In addition the commercial stuff is always the same consistency and usually comes in a tube, so is easier (and more economical) to use.

I keep two types of filler for different jobs. I use cellulose putties (like Tamiya or Mr white putty ) for areas that need to be sanded to a feather edge such as knock out holes, scratches, and chips. I use acrylic putties for any cracks or gaps that appear in assembly and need filling. I never find acrylic fillers hold well enough for sanding. They seem to crumble away as a feather edge is reached (could just be me, others seem to get on fine with them). However, they do clean up very well with a damp cotton bud so are brilliant for this type application.

I have two part epoxy putties like milliput and greenstuff, but find they are more useful for moulding or building up 3D things than for filling gaps in kits.

A good alternative to proper filler is talcum powder mixed with super glue into a slurry...... Dries hard and quickly just don't slap it around too much as it needs sanding

These superglue mixtures are hard to sand, being harder than the plastic they can stand proud after sanding in my limited experience.

Kaci just be warned a lank in 1/48 scale will be bigger than your tanker an a hell of a lot of parts an the cost will be a fortune just think it through before you order it wow BUT I HOPE YOU DO LOL an a TAMYIA ONE AS WELL ive biuld a 1/72 TAMYIA LANK YEARS ago an fitted in motors in the engines an on a stand it looked great but TAMYIA are exsensive as mine was

WOW Kaci thats cheap then go for it but remeber you are now playing with us big boys on these kits an this is only your second kit but if you want it then go for it but i dont think it will be a quick build unless you leave half of it out an your tanker is looking great considering how quick you built it an you may get the dogs for that tanker
