Hi all, thought i'd have a break from Armour so made a start on the Revell Kenworth W900. Haven't made my mind up yet on the colour, 90% of the chrome will be gone (unless i learn how to use Alclad lol) because the sprue points are a little thick and leaves white plastic that needs cleaning up. Thinking it'll be a custom truck so nice clean lines and a few mods, but we'll see how it goes down the line.

This is where i'm at, the Cat 6 cylinder is built but i cut the turbo off the cylinder head so i can sand it up. I may re-do the wiring on the side of the block just to make it look nicer. And i've test fitted everthing to see what i'm working with, and i forget how big American trucks are lol.

Looks really good John!!!
A very clean work so far ;)

Like the rest have said John, it's looking good. If you still want some chrome Vallejo do a great range of acrylic metal colours. I use them all the time, just as good as Alclad but without the smell and hassle. Take a look in Johns forum shop.

Back at it and cleaned my room up that much i've now got the airbrush up and running. Luckly my room is finished, nice and tidy. So i've got some more work done on the "Kenny", the engine is finished and weathered. I've painted the dash, just needs a few more touches and i can put that to one side. Made a start on the hood by adding some detail on the inside, again a few more bits & bobs and it shound look good in there when it's open.

Have fun, John

Awesome!! The engine is magnificent!!:cool::cool::cool::cool:

How did you do the wood grain effect on the dash?? Really liking that!:):D

Are you not cutting out the grill slots entirely and just mimicing the grill on the inside? o_O

The wood grain was easy, paint with very thin paint and an old brush. Let it dry and repeat with a lighter brown with the same old brush, that way you gets the grain hehehe. As for the grill, i just went the easy route and copyed the outside. But thinking about it now, it would be better if i cut it out that way i'm not adding things to catch the inside (off for a re-think :cool: ).
