Soooo talented. Gorgeous figure Ralph, errr not you, well you might have but I am on about the one in the picture...... :confused: Anyway, beautifully done......

the toning on him and the horse are superb,


and great work on the base and tress,just plain,beautifully done,lov it, :D

Magnificent work!!


The general color is excellent, and personally, I love the colour on the fence :)
 
I wish I could produce figures like that....... Mine always look like they should have a bloody "carer" with them. Superbly done Ralph The horse is magnificent. I really do like it a lot.

Thanks Polux.glad you like it,the fence is the same wood I've used in the thread scratchbuilding a ruined building. :)

That's a beauty Ralph , did you use the oil paste method for the horse?


I've been shown it but haven't tried it yet

Not sure what you mean by "oil paste method".


But here is how I did it.


The horse was base coated with a yellowish brown in acrylics.


Over this I put a thin layer of burnt umber oil.this was then wiped off until some of the base coat shows through on the highlights


I then used yellow ochre oil and wiped tiny amounts all over the highlights and blended this with a soft brush.


I then went back and put a bit more shade in with burnt umber with a minute touch of black.

Yes that's the method I was talking about mate :) I didn't know what to call it but it's the way I've been shown
