KV-2 kit build advice

With me being new to plastic kit modelling, I need a little advice before planning the build on my 1/72 KV-2 tank. Is it best to paint and weather the lower hull before attaching the wheels and sprockets.

With a 1/72 scale kit with the suspension of a KV, I don’t think that will really be necessary. If you were building a T-34, Cromwell, Panther, Tiger, etc. with big wheels, then I’d say it would be a good idea. Do leave the tracks off until you’ve painted the hull sides, the undersides of the mudguards and the wheels, though, else you’ll find everything to be a lot less accessible.
