Langy's Stolly..... Airfix 1/35 Alvis Stalwart

Couple of copies of Playboy is what I'm going to use once I finally get some time at home to catch up at the bench!
And definitely a brew and Rat Pack!

Excellent cab interior. Really well painted.

Loving this build, would like to start a plastic model, but I can only work on one thing at a time and the Victory has me tied up for at least another year :)

A bit more work today,
mainly building the rest of the body and painting it in Nato Green..

Passenger seat got torn out and cut down to allow it to lay flat, thus showing off the checker plate on the rear of it.. looks better this way I think... just needs a splash of dusty dirt to blend it in a bit.

Radio gear got a couple of touch ups to bring it more in-line with the various images I've found online..

Now then... the main question... does anybody know just what the white box type thing is supposed to be ?, To me it looks like a cross between a 'bait box' and a 'drink cooler' box normally found in American vehicles... the colours Airfix have you paint it in just look wrong.
I'm not sure it even looks like it belongs in there to be honest.... any thoughts ?

I found a pic..... Waterproof battery box maybe?....... Possibly for the radios rather than the vehicle?

been plodding along with the wheels..(in between home stuff),

got the replacement for the broken rear lights part today....can't fault Airfix for it's customer service.

Inching closer to the finish line with a few little bits to nudge it along.

first up,

An initial attempt to hide the injection marks inside the top hatches.... a really bad result from Airfix..... but it is what it is, so out comes the mr surfacer 500..

Didn't work at all, so onto idea number 2, try a few inserts of thin plasticard, which looks better.

Then onto the wheels, finally got them completed to somewhere I'm happy with...

Did a bit more work on the cab..
namely drawing around the recesses for the glazing with a black sharpie to replicate the rubber seals.. (I've also drawn around the edges of the glazing pieces which hides the 'silver' edge you get when glazing isn't hidden behind a frame...)

Glazing fitted and the side panels fitted..

Hello mate looking good. Just for info, in service these vehicles had a thin white line across the centre of the hub on each wheel that all pointed in the same direction. This was due to transmission wind up the driver could spot this when the white lines stopped lining up.
