discussion Laser cutter/engraver

I'm considering buying a laser cutter/engraver and have been looking at various machines. My basic requirements are to cut wood and acrylic sheet up to 4mm thick and thin metal up to 1/2mm thick-ish. I think most machines would engrave most materials. Anybody here got any recommendations?

to CUT metal you need something other than a diode laser.

I have an xtool s1 , 40w and 5w ir ( you can swap heads )

it can cut wood and some acrylic material.

neither of the diode heads can cut metal , they can mark it , and it may allow you to approximate etched brass.

to cut / remove a lot of metal you would need a fibre / mopa style laser.
