Water washable resin
I've never used the washer part of my washer/curer. The tank holds so much water I wouldn't be able to dispose of the waste. Instead I use warm soapy water from a small sqeeze the trigger spray bottle and various small brushes to carefully wash off excess resin, then rinse the part under a tap...- A7man

I use nitrile gloves when using water washable resin. Not latex or the other one?! I have never tried "ordinary" resin so would be interested to hear a comparison from someone who has used both. Another excellent build! I remember in the late 50s early 60s seeing similar wagons around my town that all seemed to have those type of wheel. In later years I wondered how they were made. thinking of getting this
I have nearly completed the four Austin Seven models I started over three years ago. Total cost for materials and machinery will exceed £2000. If I had known four years ago what it would cost me, would I have still done it? You bet!!! Go for it! Lee -

Problems with Uncured Resin?
As well as extra curing, try washing the parts with isopropol alcohol (IPA). I use a small coarse brush with the bristles cut short. The resin I use is water washable, maybe ordinary resin is different?- A7man

Do you have more than one project running at one time? You seem to be able to produce amazing models in a short amount of time! I can imagine your models being in great demand by a museum that wants to have them as an exhibition. Nicely done! Lee- A7man

Best approaches for designing and printing custom parts for scale models?
Hi reynsi, I have used several different cad programmes and at the moment I just use DesignSpark mechanical and SolidEdge. DS is free for the basic version, which does everything I need. There are some limitations, but trying it won't cost anything. SE has a community edition which is also free...- A7man

Hi Tony, No problem. I am always ready to hear other opinions, that's how I learn. I used to be a builder and have helped build hundreds of buildings from houses up to mega factories. But I wouldn't know where to start to build a model of one! I do have an idea though of a house over the years... -

Hi Paramaniac. I have an Ender3 FDM printer, my workhorse for prints that don't need a great deal of detail, and an Anycubic mono 4k resin printer for when I do need detail. I find the resin prints to be fragile and prone to warping, but you can't argue with the level of detail. Both printers... -

Give them to people you don't like and pretend to be so proud of the model they daren't throw it away. -

Welcome to this Anniversary GB, 90 years of Spitfires.
I'm not sure if this counts. My late friend Lorna bought an Austin Seven "special" in 1958, her first car. A special is just an A7 that has had the body removed and a home made body fitted. The student who built the car told Lorna that he had visited a local RAF base and cut some of the skin...- A7man
