Yes: buy the Takom ones if you like lengthy cleanup of many pieces, fiddly assembly of many pieces, and track with a lot of stretch in it. Buy the AFV Club ones if you want track that needs little cleanup, is about as simple to assemble as workable track will be, and hardly stretches a millimetre. The Takom track’s chief advantages are having holes in the ends of the pins (on the outside of the track only) and having central guide horns that follow the track’s curve.

I sold on the tracks that came with the Takom M247 Sgt. York kit (that they also sell separately) because I did not want to put it together, and the person I sold it to, took something like 14 hours to build it, I think he mentioned. By contrast, I’ve built several sets of AFV Club M48/M60 track and would do so again tomorrow if I was building a kit that needed it.

Oh, one thing: not sure if you’ve seen the discussion on Missing-Lynx about M48/M60/M102 tracks, but the AFV Club T97 tracks (the ones with the chevrons) are not accurate for an M48 or M60 — only for the M88 ARV and M102 heavy tank.
Thank you Jakko.
Will get some Afv club ones.Ive got the DEF models m60 conversion and that has the Chevron tracks in as an extra. Its a stalled build as the resin turret has shrinkage and is undersized when placed on the hull top.I contacted them but they didnt want to know.
Cheers from Richard

All of this has arrived in the last 7 days.....and isn't the credit card feeling it....

Naval lozenge decals from Lukgraph, including a usage sheet. The top sheet decals are smaller, so I might take them to the SMC show in October and see if Lucasz will trade them for the larger pattern. One sheet is enough to do my Albatros W.4. The only downside is the decal sheet is 5 mm shorter the the upper wingspan length. No biggie though.......I have a plan...

As my Micro Krystal Klear was very old and quite dried up I followed Tim's suggestion in THIS thread about glues. So if my windows/canopies etc don't now fit beautifully I'll know who to blame :tongue-out3: :smiling:

Well, it works for me Jim…….don’t bother with the nozzle though, just unscrew the cap and take some out on a cocktail stick to a scrap of cardboard and work from that…..

My bottle looks a bit different to that, branded "Pacer", but I've been very happy with it.

I have a bottle of this stuff also, came in the boxes with all the paints I received from my friends down south. I wondered if it was good for anything other than canopies. What advantage does it have over CA for etched parts Tim?

It’s got better shear strength Rick. Being more flexible it takes knocks better. At last, I find it has…..best to experiment with some scrap etch and see what you think.

I thought it might be suitable for attaching those smaller pre-painted parts. Styrene cement can spoil the paint and CA has little wriggle time and clean up, if necessary, is very difficult. This stuff should give a reasonably strong bond and any clean up should be straightforward with just a damp brush.

I'm doing exactly that with my truck build Jim. Some bits need the quicker action of CA but wherever I can get away with it I'm using the '560 and cleaning up any excess straight away.

What are you using for clean up Andy?

Sounds good Andy. I have used that white Gator glue but I'm down to my last pot of the stuff and it's virtually impossible to get hold of.

Well, either I've got the bargain of a lifetime, or I've just wasted £33.93! Looking for a replacement for my deceased Monoprice Mini 3D printer, I found an ebay auction item that seemed to fit the bill - problem was I knew nothing about this printer, and the auction was finishing in less than an hour.................. I hurriedly looked at reviews, YouTube vids & the user manual, and eventually decided to chance it - I put on a max bid of £46 ( with p&p just under £50 ) - but amazingly got it for £30 + p&p, this was Friday night. Just got an email from ebay & Evri to say that it's on it's way. This is another base level printer, without anything fancy, which is perhaps why no-one else bid on it. We shall see!!
