Ian

Thanks for the pointer, I will check Eduard out and see what they have, Scott glad you like the Leopard, it certainly is a big model when you open the box. Haven't had much of a chance to investigate thoroughly yet but this one has a 120mm smooth bore gun! As yet have not found any metal barrels for said kit yet unless anyone knows different

Hi Andy i've had a look at the challenger and the M60 A1 and they are both large kits as well i measured the challanger hull against my king tiger and it is longer, it shold turn out nice although iam building straight from the box.

Latest ones. 1/48 Kubelwagen

1/35 Kubelwagen

Miniart kit off John.

Just been into town and chanced a visit to my local model shop....

Just look what I bought. A 1/25 scale early or late version Jagdpanther by Academy.

I've always had a great liking for Academy stuff, my Tiger kits are this make.

I had a look on 'tinternet and it seems this kit gives the Tamiya 1/24 version a good run for it's money......But as I paid under £17.00 for such a big scale kit, I'm not the slightest bit bothered if it doesn't!lol

Cheers,

Ron

My Mrs bought this for me last night of eBay. £8.49 plus £3.00 post. Good deal really. I only happened to mention that I used to love making these as a kid!! Gotta love her!

Allyne: nice kit that I have built two and have one in the stash.

Hunty22: Ah ain't she sweet.

Andy: Nice one, there seems to be a swing to the "modern stuff" at the moment, must be all the activity with Mr Gadaffi that has re awoken the interest?

Any chance of a review, if Scott does one of the Tamiya, and you do the Trumpy it would be good to see how they stack up.

Yes Ian

I will be more than happy to give a review. the detailing in the kit from what I can see as far as the slat armour goes is plastic molded. Will give an update on Tanks when i start and photograph the contents. Yes it will be nice to see how it compares to the Tamiya kit as well.

Sounds great. What do you say to an SIG Scott, Andy? I'm Up for it, I only have the current GB and the rest of my Aircraft SIG to do- I quite fancy doing one. What do you say. should I move this to the SIG section...?

Speaking of the Challenger, that reminds me... about a month ago I saw this kit

and it reminded me of building the Airfix 1/72 scale version when I was much much younger - in fact I had several, along with Scimitars and even some crude attempts at conversions to the other variants such as the Spartan APC etc. I loved this little tank and even got to see one up close at the Bovington museum. I couldn't resist (a familiar story eh?) so went and ordered it.

It soon arrived and I was very pleased. Then, as you do, I was looking on eBay (evilBay lol, like it!) and saw this:

which was very close to the end of its auction and the price was almost half that of the retail price! Woohooo!!!! So now, ahem, I am the proud possessor of a Scorpion AND Scimitar kits, PLUS the track sets from Accurate Armour since I'd read that the tracks are a bit too tight from the kit. Then, looking at the Accurate Armour site I made the "horrifying" (well at least for my bank balance) discovery that AA do 1/35 resin kits of the Spartan, Sultan, Sampson, Smaritan, Striker, Shielder and Stormer! Woah I can get a complete set, well if I take out a mortgage to pay for them all that is!

So these are in my stash and one the 1/35 tillly is complete and then the 1/48 resin Standard Tilly from Accurate Armour is added to the 1/48 Battle of Britain diorama I'd been working on before the Austin Tilly and the Group Build, then I can consider moving on to the Scorpion... or maybe the Thunderbird 4 kit that is looking all forlorn and unloved... choices choices...

Nice find Allyne. I dont know how you all do it. Everything I find on evil-bay that I actually want, I can normally find cheaper in an "ordinary" web shop!

Ian yes push this over to the SIG, I have a Leopard 2 A6 to build as well, the one which ewe ahve already discussed, so how about Modern NATO armour, that gives peopel a chance to build the Challenger et al!

Just a suggsetion mind, but if it is to be the Challenger then yes I will build as part of the SIG, just when a start time is planned and the alloted period, or is that a group build?
