Well, you may think me barking mad, but I had to have one of these! Read a lot of conflicting reviews, but all agreed that it built up into a really cracking model. So, so many parts, but looks brilliant!

Never done a Mirror Model John, be interested to see what you think as they do some decent items you don't often see in the mainstream.

this is why I went for it in the end, toss-up between it and the 'dozer, but I have been hankering to do another soft skin, and I believe these are limited run, and I often miss the boat on this sort of stuff! Hope my skills are up to the job!!

Well, I'm going to give it my best shot! It seems that MM have made a number of improvements from the initial release, and although it has some pretty big sprue gates, they are fairly thin, and shouldn't prove too tricky with a PE saw. On some of the tiny parts, the gates look preposterous, as there's more styrene in the gate than the component, but it's a job to be taken carefully and slowly, and I've found a very thorough build log on the Large Scale Model forum, by someone who seems to know his onions!

Good job you didn't get a trailer with covered sides, it would have been curtains.......

Seriously though, really looking forward to this. Got halfway through doing a DAF a few years ago but lost my way and ended up binning it. They are fascinating kits to build and references are all around us.
