Got this from Japan to keep Ian (papa 695) company if he does a little Eggplane GB.


Love this egg space shuttle, it's a cracking kit..... Cracking...... do you get it?..... cracking as in..oh never mind, it was a bad yolk anyway. Didn't have to shell out much for it either. I was going to do a FW190 but I didn't want Ian to accuse me of poaching his idea......

Just received the Top Studio master detail sets for the 1/12 Tamiya McLaren MP4/6 , engine set , cockpit set , brake set , drive shaft set , antenna set , must say it all looks fantastic , I even got the ok from the wife to get this stuff on the understanding I`m now on a financial modelling lockdown for a good few months , cant say I blame her , expensive coming in about £180 even I feel guilty .


The guilt won`t last long , Happy days

Something special , hope so Graham , Top Studio have now opened a big market for 1/12 F1 car builders , although still expensive they are way cheaper than a couple of company`s abroad ( who I shall not name and probably got the right hump ) who charge around £400-500 for similar but not so good detail kits ,

Picked this up today. Been a bad weekend so no modelling done at all but while we were out today, I remembered a Railway specialist shop nearby that used to sell the odd kit so we diverted to see if it was still there. Well it is and it has one of the biggest Revell stocks I have ever seen!


Anyway, lurking in a corner was this.

Now this Trumpeter 'Paper Panzer' and me go back a while. I originally bought this kit in Ipswich around the end of 2012 I think. I started building this, a Dragon 25lbr and Limber and another kit which I cannot remember. I came home from work one day to find my late (not because of this incident) Chocolate Lab had just about eaten them... all that was left was jumbled bits of plastic and PE.


So, here it is again, I had to get it. Sadly the rebox of the original, which this is, has suffered the cost cutting as well known in Dragon circles. It still comes with an optional aluminium barrel that still needs the plastic muzzle brake. But the optional photo etch gun shield is no longer included but it does have single link tracks with those odd plastic pins that I certainly do not remember from the original. Also, there used to be 32 brass end caps for the 88mm shells, now there is only 16.


As a concept, an 88mm gun mounted well back on a T38 chassis, it looks like it might fall over backwards when it fires. Many of these Paper Panzers are just that, they never got off the drawing board before the end of the war. However, there are sources that says two of these were built and were used in the defence of Berlin but no mention of how they performed.


look forward to building it, and hopefully completing it this time.

These arrived today. The RAF decals are for a Phantom loitering in the loft for later this year while the MiG-21 decals are for the GB in the summer - seeing as how I have just returned from Ethiopia I'll do an EAF MiG-21 MF.

On the strength of the quality of the Bandai Star Wars X-wing and Y-Wing fighters I got a couple of weeks ago, I've completed the set of their Star Wars kits (apart from the figures):

The detail on all of these has to be seen to be believed - I've never seen any better even on the odd bits of resin I've come across. For the quality they are dirt cheap and should be on the 'must build' list of any Star Wars fan.
