I am currently in Denmark, (billund), with my family and have just spent the day at legoland. As an almost 40 yr old child I have to say that it is utterly incredible and awe inspiring. My little boy loved it and so did I.It's worth the entrance fee alone to see just the models, the thought, patience, skill and effort in them is incredible. I would highly recommend a visit here to anyone with young children from 3 to 50, :DWe're returning again tomorrow to catch all the places we missed, (a few looking at the map), and get pics of the models, I hope to upload a batch of them to my p bucket acc for all to see.Meanwhile, we're recovering while gabe builds his ninjago dojo then off for some nice danish beer and dinner.

Hi, we've been to legoland windsor several times, it is amazing, like you say, the amount of time and effort that goes into the build they do there!!!!

Cheers, Andrew

It's fun there aint it! I was there many years ago and thought it was fantastic. No kids of our own so if I need an excuse to go again, I'll have to borrow some.

I hope you are enjoying Denmark and the encroaching winter is not being to bad to you. You should come in the Spring/early summer.

If you have plans on getting to Copenhagen, drop me a PM.

Guy who is a member here but I haven't seen him on for a while is the head model maker at Windsor, he invited me and my family down a few years back and give us a tour behind the scenes it was fascinating to see them at work then he took us in to their storage room it was massive I've never seen so much coloured plastic, it's a great day out would like to go again one day.

We did discuss hopping over to copenhagen for a day funnily enough, we just weren't sure of the cost of internal flights, (haven't bothered with a hire car as the main purpose of visiting was legoland and the hotel is a stones throw from the airport and legoland), I take it you're close to copenhagen yourself? Will certainly let you know if we do arrange a day there.

Weather so far isn't half bad, in fact very much like the scotland we just left yesterday. I may have a european touring run on the bike next summer and visit denmark again, we like what we've seen so far and have to say billund is incredibly clean, so unlike many places in the uk.John, that sounds great fun, you're very lucky for the behind the scenes look, can you imagine being head modeller as a job, fantastic!

We did this a few years ago - we stayed a few days in Copenhagen and then took the train to Vejle, hired a car and stayed a couple of nights in the tiny village of Jelling, which is absolutely delightful - it has two huge runestones right in the centre.

I live just outside, about 20 mins in a car. Daniel (Gomer Pyle) lives in the thick of it. If you do come over next year, let me know and we can meet up.
