Yes Colin I have great faith in the youth of today. There are a lot of them all over the world defending us & trying to police others in adversity and with the utmost dignity.\ said:As per usual the local supermarket ground to a halt at the said time, earily though it always seems, the honoured silence this year being broken by a suited gentleman who seemed to have no time in his life to waste, this "person" continued to scan his items at the self sevice untill a young lad (who was the size of a small island i may add) placed his arm round the mans shoulder and lifted him into an upright position, turning him around to face the rest of the supermarket occupants whist placing a finger to his own lips saying shhhhhhhh. It seems the youngest of us don't wish to forget either ..... gives you a warm feeling in this day and age.
That letter had me welling up also, as well as the one his sister wrote for his funeral...\ said:Cracked up well & truly this morning watching the Cenotaph ceremony. A letter was read from a young soldier. He died in Afganistan & had left this un-opened letter to his Mother, Father & Sister to be read in case of his death. A remarkable letter written by a very young man giving his absolute love for his family. He went on to to the effect to say that he served his country & people as he thought it right for him to do so. That his mum & dad should not blame themselves in any way. Very simple but powerful stuff.Laurie
