started this one over a year ago and abandoned it, just couldn't get the flesh looking right, will have another go with some oils. Will use the acrylics as the base for the oils

I approached this one with quite a bit of trepidation, never painted female flesh before, and the box art is quite amazing. So i have gone for a more suntan/olive skin approach, thinking she has been out in the open for a fair amount of time. All painted with oils over an acrylic base. Its amazing to see how 'off' the standard 'flesh' colour on her right arm ( Scalecolor artist acrlyics)is. Need to tidy up her eyes and obvioulsy paint her right arm, but pretty happy with were we are at the moment.

That’s a nice realistic skin tone right there Steve. Transitions are beautifully smooth as well. Interest that the “stock” skin tone is so red. I use Vallejo myself, and that is always tinted too yellow…..

Hi Steve
Figure painting is very, very hard but female figure painting is a even harder. The skin on her is excellent. Very smooth and the blending is perfect. I think the 'oils over acrylic' approach is just right for female skin, especially young female skin.
