This lot have just moved from the production line into the display cabinets - a 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M3 'Hamp', a 1/48 of same, and a 1/48 A6M5 'Zeke', all Tamiya kits.
Thanks, Lee. I have a soft spot for the Pacific theatre. Just started on a 1/48 Brewster Buffalo B-339 ...Murfie. They look nice
Thanks for the compliments, Ron. However, my photography must be pretty poor as that A6M5 is heaps better than the one that flew your way recently. I love the squared wing tips on the A6M3 model 32.Lovely trio, Murfie. Very neat builds. (Although the A6M5 is not quite as good as the one that flew in to my airfield a week or so ago)![]()

Sure is. Quality stuff. I'm really enjoying the build so far. I'll post a pic when it's finished.... have fun with the Buffalo, Tamiya one?
Colin, there are some very interesting models among the WWII Japanese aircraft that make for an enjoyable build. Tamiya's kits are really exceptional. Their 1/72 scale models cannot be beaten for quality, though the fine detail is such you have to have very good dexterity and eyesight to cope, something my age does not help with. They look good Murfie. You've got me thinking, I need to have a look at some Japanese aircraft. I think I've only ever built one.
Thanks, Ralph. That's very kind of you. Glad to see you posting again.Very nice Murfie :smiling3:.
Thanks, Joe. The A6M3 had two models - 22 and 32 - the latter having the squared wingtips which I quite like. Tamiya's comprehensive range of Mitsubishi A6M's include the 2, 3 (both models) and the 5 in both 1/72 and 1/48. The 1/72 kits are exceptional for that scale and include open and closed canopy options and heaps of cockpit detail.A fantastic looking trio Murfie. I've not noticed the clipped/squared wingtips before.
Lee, finished Buffalo can be viewed here.Murfie. Your Welcome. Now your talking the Buffalo is one of my favorites. I’ll be looking for it
