This lot have just moved from the production line into the display cabinets - a 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M3 'Hamp', a 1/48 of same, and a 1/48 A6M5 'Zeke', all Tamiya kits.

Thanks for the compliments, Ron. However, my photography must be pretty poor as that A6M5 is heaps better than the one that flew your way recently. They look good Murfie. You've got me thinking, I need to have a look at some Japanese aircraft. I think I've only ever built one.

Colin, there are some very interesting models among the WWII Japanese aircraft that make for an enjoyable build. Tamiya's kits are really exceptional. Their 1/72 scale models cannot be beaten for quality, though the fine detail is such you have to have very good dexterity and eyesight to cope, something my age does not help with.

Thanks, Joe. The A6M3 had two models - 22 and 32 - the latter having the squared wingtips which I quite like. Tamiya's comprehensive range of Mitsubishi A6M's include the 2, 3 (both models) and the 5 in both 1/72 and 1/48. The 1/72 kits are exceptional for that scale and include open and closed canopy options and heaps of cockpit detail.
And no, I don't get any commission from Tamiya ....
