It is that time of the year again when all those little bits of plasticand brass and resin all come together to show off our work to the public at large and any other passing alien...
The event has catering and details can be found on the MAFVA website - just google MAFVA and it will be the first entry.

Now this will be on Sunday June 16, and it is also Fathers Day, so weld the old man to his zimmer frame so he will not get lost and he can be parked in the corner with the rest of us old fogies and we can talk about WD40, rust prevention and lack of woodworm in the zimmer frame - we can even do a protest if we feel inclined, although we are inclined or is that stooped and Channel 4 will take up our cause and make a documentary with a sour faced presenter....

And I forgot to tell you where this coming together will be...

Burgess Hall, One Leisure St Ives, Westwood Rd, Saint Ives, Cambridgeshire, PE27 6WU

Doors open at 10am and afternoon sleep time will be conducted outside in the free car parking....

I will be there along with other reprebates from this forum and after we have paraded around the vendors we will then invade the competition area - but more importantly we can be found occupying the sofa and chair area next to the bar/coffee/tea/food bar....

I'd never heard of the MAFVA Mike, is that the UK equivalent of the US AMPS (Armor Modeling and Preservation Society)?

Miniature Armoured Fighting Vehicle Association.
If you google MAFVA it will come up and you can browse who they are and what they do, there are branches scattered all over the country.

I shall see if i can persuade my friend John to go.Then we can arrive in style in his saloon.

Good, I will be the one with the glowing red 'arris due to peddleing the tandem single handed....

For those going to the show, apparently the side car park is no longer as the school next door that owns it has fallen out with the leasure centre - so it will be parking on the main car park or where directed.
Cheers
Mike.

I will look forward to a full photo reportage and a few gongs maybe?

Sadly cant attend.Nobody going from our club.Hopefully i will go to the show in September at the same venue

Richard, Scottie,
Now that has put me in and impossible position, how on earth am I going to control JR when he runs amock, the embarrasment at the last show where we had to drag him off that petrol generator because it was smoking....
Seriously, you will be missed and we can catch up in the future....

Arrived at 8am to get a parking space, but could have arrived later at the crowd did not start coming in untill 10am, still got a free coffee (Cappucchino) from the bar...
The competition tables were all laid out as per normal on the first floor, and there were some great models on display, although the Junior and Open classes seemed to be down from last year.
So onto the pics...
First one is for Doug (Waspie) I finally tracked down a 1/48 one for you....

And there were many more to see....

There were a few parking spaces free when I arrived about 10:45ish. As usual, some excellent models, including Mike's entries. Bumped into Mike just when I was leaving - nice to have a chat, although brief.
