Looking at the photo again, I think it's a box sold for under-bed storage. One of my photos shows how someone did it - bread tray lined with expanded polystyrene and toothpicks to stop the models sliding about.

The collator of the results who knows me and the concensious of opinion in the club was - I woz robbed - but we shall see next year....Thanks for sharing your photos,it looks like it was a great show and well done on the awards. Very well deserved. very surprised that the bridge layer didn't place.
Yeah! but I got my own back, have you ever seen a fat old lardy trying to pump up his flat car tyres with a foot pump with a leak..... Pump! fart! gasp! pump!.....Congratulation Mike. Well deserved.
If you hadn't been so tight with the bribes your medal haul would have been even greater.
:thinking:HAHAHA :rolling: :flushed::smiling::smiling::smiling::smiling:WellMuchOlderthanme, ya can't win 'em all...That is a nice haul of metals and you should be happy with them. I was going to write you about the bribes, but I figured you knew that the Green Stamps you put in the envelopes went away over 25 years ago and are worthless in this day and age. Judges today only have one thing on their minds...'Show Me The Money', if you wanna win...
The real shame is the bridge layer didn't even get a mention, especially after all the hard blood, sweat, tears, and work you put into it, Mike. There is always next year and I'm pretty sure you'll do a clean sweep in the comps. Forget the cash and bring the .45 Mag with you to the comps. Definitely an attention getter and when the judges close the doors to judge, ask them that one question...'Do You Feel Lucky Punk......Do Ya???'!!!
A big thanks to you and Pete for the great pics. There were some fine builds all a round...

As I am now talking to you from The Taj Mahal Hotel, no not the one in India, but the one in down and out Brixton, I will let you work it out....:smiling6:Some well deserved rewards there Mike (like the others I'm a bit gobsmacked your bridgelayer didn't win anything!).
I gotta ask though - are they real gold and silver? If not, they should oughta be!
