Thanks for looking in guys...

Jim, the detail showed up only under good lighting and it blew most of us away.
Peter, don't give up...your painting matches with some of these guys.
Polux, the Skycar garage dio was built by the only female builder in the competition from Thailand. It's lighted from under the pit.

Cheers,
Richard

Now I understand why it looks so “romantic”.....:smirk:

Thanks guys...now before I get to the wingy stuff, here are some displays from the master builders table. No doubt the display that we were intrigued was the underwater submarine explosion by Won Hui Lee. You'll see that we got hold of him to explain how he did it...the interrogation was fun. :tears-of-joy:

We asked everything from the materials used to the execution and lighting. For me the amazing thing was the resin was poured in one portion mixed with less hardener in winter to negate the heat. The sunrays were created by three centrally mounted LED lights through ripples on the surface. The bubble trails and explosion were a mixture of LED, clay and cotton wool...ordinary cotton wool from the pharmacy...not necessary a Korean pharmacy...the questions were very specific. Hyun Jin Kim from DEF was our translator.

Ok that's it for the competition entries. If I can get hold of the club displays from a friend I will post it here as there were too many to photograph.

Cheers,
Richard

You're welcome Steve. I was surrounded by some of the best modellers but couldn't get around to really meet them all or scrutinise their work. An opportunity that I hope will happen in next years show as most have said they will come again.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Jim, this was shot under bad lighting...just imagine if it was under neutral lighting you would be able to see the right tones and shading. These guys have experimented different styles of paint pigments doing away with whites and blacks and opting for yellows blues and reds for shading and highlighting. Some have forced lighting like green shades reflected on skin from an infinite direction. Makes for an interesting subject to look at instead of flat tones.

Hi Allen, thanks for dropping in and kind comment...only 365 days to the next show. :smiling4:

Cheers,

Polux, the Skycar garage dio was built by the only female builder in the competition from Thailand. It's lighted from under the pit.

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard.
I’m looking for that car......
Have you any information or you know the name of the builder. I’m trying to find some clue on internet via under construction thread on a forum and similar.
Any help will be welcome!!!!
