Hi Mark......really late to the party! Just read through and you are kicking butt on this build. It is great to know that you are having fun with this "monster" of an AFV! So much stuff going on with this GB, it's hard to keep track of all the builds. So I have now finished building the main turret,it's had a coat of tamiya rattle can primer,find it adheres quite well especially were there's etch.over that a quick coat of vallejo nato black.A few tools to go on after I've painted it, made a start on the MG turret and made a start on repainting the outer wheels.

I take it you don't use metal primer on the PE then Mark ?
If that paints sticks it's great , I've always had to use it with normal Vallejo and AK 3 gen .
Some great detail on the kit, the wiring on the rear , or pipe work looks particularly good .

Hi John, the tamiya primer is for metal and plastic, I use it on everything as a first coat.just realised I have forgotten to attach a bit more of the pipework on the rear.oops! Job for tomorrow.

Thought that black/dark colours are meant to make things look smaller - made this look bigger (if possible!) it's a beast! Lovin' it! :thumb2:

Tamiya primer is very similar to the old car cellulose primer that used to be available from Halfords etc. As that was formulated to stick to cars, which were made mostly of sheet metal, it is more than adequate for etch metal parts on models John.

This is really looking imposing now she’s in her undies. Fabulous AFV :thumb2:

Thanks guys :thumb2: yep it is great kit to build,a few fiddly bits but it wouldn't be any fun without a bit of challenge somewhere! Definitely adding a few more zvezda's to the stash.

Keep her going Sir...Oh, and check out Zvezda's Mercedes truck kits. A little older and a bit fiddly, but look really good when built. Tires are not 100% correct though.....

Had a bit more progress, wheels and tracks on and have made a start with replacing the bits I removed earlier with the etch mudflaps I'd guess you could call them. Hi Tim, interesting you should say that about the Tamiya primer , because the smell of the Mr Hobby metal primer is cellulose, and when I had some cellulose thinners I used it to clean the brush .
