I like it by todays standards I suppose there not all that but but fond memories of what I think was quite dynamic packaging ,although airfix had great art work as a youngster you'd have reached out for the matchbox packaging every time multi coloured plastic and a diorama base no contest. I hope this makes sense but great to see it built with old hands showing it love and respect. Dave

A real blast from the past there. Nice job Dave, it looks just as nature intended…..

I remember being disappointed when I discovered that other manufacturers didn’t include a diorama base with their 1:76/1:72 scale military vehicle kits.

I'm another with fond memories of building this as a teenager....

Now for some reason I really like the simplicity of the whole model - great work.

Every time I see a Matchbox build I want to go and make them allover again...
Guys, are we all just showing our age now?

Thanks everybody. :thumb2:

I must admit to having a blast making Airfix, Frog, Revell and of course Matchbox kits that I made in my youth during the Seventies. Many of these kits I have only ever made once and in the case of the Chaffee it is the first time of asking. When revisiting these old kits I try and get the original Seventies boxings and building them OOB just as I did in the old days. Regression perhaps but I am enjoying the simplicity of it all.

Couldn't agree more Dave :)
Problem is for me,these days,my peepers exclude me from those cracking, tiny scale, models generally !
