So I've been looking at Warhammer 40k for a while as I fancied doing something as I used to do it as a kid.
After looking at the site one or two things grabbed my attention but in an unrelated search I came up with this, an unpainted marine whose about 8 inches high standing.

Detail and moulding is good and I just thought it would make a cool thing to go on the shelf in the shed when it's done as a dark angel.

Base undercoat of grey (looks more white to me) is done, will then spray with black undercoat tomorrow and then start top coating.

So finally I have found a pot of enthusiasm and got on with it......
Base coat done, time for detail and weathering!

Also the dark angles scheme went by the wayside as the imperial fiat I think looks better this time.
Also given up trying to airbrush acrlyic paints, lacquer based are just so much easier!

So something I missed. Between undercoat and painting I actually completely stripped the model into component parts and base coated.

Shocking to see that it's almost two years but finally completed. Need to speed up a lot!

It's not great but it's ok, my photos also aren't great.

Just finished one too, mine is an ultramarine. Not the easiest things to paint. Nice work

Did you fully disassemble? I did when I repainted it. Really need a heat gun or hair dryer though to make stripping apart easier I found
Took most of it apart, left it sitting in hot water initially then a mixture of hairdryer and Vaseline to put it back together
