I think I've included the basic elements & shapes of a Mantis. It looks very "slabby" at the moment but I'll break that up with panelling & detailing. The flame thrower mount needs beefing up as it looks a bit weedy now it's all one colour.

Now to make something similar for the other side, but in a more extended pose.

Thank you very much gents.

Loving this, how abo u t Kawasaki green as a base coat?
And a splash of my favourite colour ever - Verde Miura!

To be honest I'd chosen the colour scheme before I even started building. Something that would contrast between the old Russian tank parts and the new additions. I'm not sure if bright green would fit in with that but I'll see :smiling3:

I haven't had much time on this lately but I've been making a rocket launcher. Rockets are a bit wonky as yet, dry fitted to make painting easier, but it's coming together quite well.

And yes, it started life as a couple of Lego bricks :tears-of-joy:

The extra turret width has allowed me to make a double mantlet with a stubby barrel to compliment the Tamiya kit one.

Thanks Jim.

I'm struggling a bit with ideas for some parts, so I move onto other areas until inspiration hits :smiling3:

Wow, that is some superb kit-bashing and scratch-building! :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2: :thumb2:

Just been reading this build blog. Truly spectacular miss-use of Hippy tobacco and PYO woodland mushrooms. lol I have no idea how you come up with these things otherwise.

Great work Andy.

The other arm is now built. Now that it's all together it looks a bit unbalanced or top heavy to me. Probably the rocket launcher throwing things off, or maybe just the disparity of colours.

I'll give it a while before making any big changes though as it may grow on me.
