Hi all,

This is the start of my build of the Meng Models Me-410 B2/U4

As you can see from the box, it's the bomber-killer with the 50mm gun :)

As is traditional , I've started with the cockpit! I painted it RLM 66 & then lightened it up with a touch of white in the mix.

First the pilots bit

The instruments are (badly!) painted in accordance with nothing other than my imagination ;)

Then the rear gunners station

A quick silver drybrush, the Eduard seatbelts & we're done. I'm not going to bother with a wash.

Thanks for looking

Patrick

Thanks guys! I really like the lines of the 410, it's like the German Mosquito.

To speed things up, I'll probably cut some corners - the cannon gunbay under the pilots cockpit can't be seen, so I'll probably skip that area.

The cannon can be recycled into another project ;)

Nice start. I like the 410 too. Never heard of Meng as a brand, I'll be interested to see this one.

Ca'nt wait to see some pics Patrick and its all you're fault I just moved the 2 in my stash to the top of the next to do!

After much trials & tribulation (not to mention swearing!) I've got the fuselage together.

Meng don't believe in guide pins etc, and the ' snakehead ' shape at the forward end means using clamps in ways they weren't designed for!

Also, because so much strength is needed where the clear part of the nose joins, I had to use CA cement, so fingers crossed it hasn't fogged up.

I managed to break off the canopy bracing :(

Wings are also well on their way to being done, just a few bits needed here.

You do get 2 nicely detailed engines, but mine won't be on show, so they're just there to have something to hold the exhaust stacks & props.

Finally the 5cm BK5 cannon pod.
